This year there are many holidays that land in a convenient place on the calendar and Valentine’s Day is no exception. Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday this year and the weekend is capped off with President’s Day which means no time off work is needed (in some cases). But we have something at the end of this post that may make you want to take more than just 3 days – stay tuned for that.

A Romantic Getaway

Skip dinner and the movies grab your love and hit the road in an RV Rental for a romantic getaway that you’ll never forget.

With nothing but romance in mind, it’s time to raise the bar for this trip. Select a place that’s more tranquil like the beach front RV sites of Dustin, Florida or the beautiful views of Wine Country around Napa Valley. These are 2 beautiful locations and perfect for Valentine’s Day but if you’re vibe is more cooler temperatures, there are plenty of great locations to visit. Just scour the National Parks website to help find a destination.

If RV set up isn’t right for you, there are plenty of hosts that offer delivery. The host does all the driving and set up/tear down, while you just show up and enjoy the pleasures of RVing then leave. That stress-free, romantic getaway couldn’t be easier.

If you choose the delivery option, there are still some things you may want to consider either adding on or bringing with you. Since this is a romantic getaway, considering adding on to your rental package to reduce stress.

Don’t forget to include some nice meals cooked over the campfire, on a grill or within the RV. Since this is Valentine’s Day, don’t forget the sweet treat. You don’t have to do the standard chocolate dipped strawberries – do something a little more fitting for a camp site. Try this Dutch Oven S’Mores Cake Recipe by Polka Dot Chair’s Melissa Mortenson. It’s a twist on this sweet campsite dessert. Or, maybe you’re looking for something a little easier – a set it and forget it kind of thing. Bring a slow cooker with you and make Kitchen Network’s Slow Cooker Chocolate Fondue then go take a short hike while it’s cooking.

Unplug and Reconnect

  1. Take the time to relax and unplug as much as you can. The point of the trip is to reconnect with your loved one. Some of these tips might help:
  2. Make a list of analog things you’d like to do. Walking through vineyards or doing yoga on the beach contribute to a relaxed mental state.
  3. Turn off your push notifications.
  4. If you’re not completely onboard with total unplugging, set specific check-in times. If ignoring it is going to stress you out far more than taking a few minutes to check in, set aside a short time each day, but with a strict time limit.
  5. Adjust while you’re away.

Relax and soak in the surroundings

Now that you’ve unplugged, it’s time to relax. There are so many places around the US to enjoy. These are just some of the most romantic U.S cities to visit.

Destin, FL

Snuggled against the Gulf of Mexico in northwest Florida, Destin is rightfully famed for its sugar-white sands and emerald-hued waters. Escape winter’s grip with long walks on sunny beaches, a fishing charter and nighttime campfires on the beach.

Sedona, AZ

Spend the night under the Sedona sky and enjoy stargazing, fishing and just relaxing. With plenty of sunshine filled days, most think that hiking is the only outdoor activity. That can’t be further from the truth – enjoy hot air balloon tours, horseback rides and tours on the Verde River in a kayak.

Napa Valley, CA

Imagine the opportunity to camp out in a blissful vineyard, sipping on delicious wines. Create moments of interaction among vineyards, farms and beautiful sunset views.

Lake Tahoe, CA

A winter wonderland hideaway in the Sierra Mountains is the perfect getaway. Enjoy the slopes, watch the sun set over the water and go for a horse drawn carriage ride in the snow.
